Cairo, Jan. 29: Tens of thousands were out on the Egyptian capital Cairo’s streets as angry demonstrators threw molotov cocktails at police, who responded with gunfire, near the epicentre of five days of protests which has already claimed 50 lives.
Leading Egyptian dissident Mohamed ElBaradei said on Saturday that the appointment of a vice president and a new prime minister in Egypt was not enough to end a revolt against President Hosni Mubarak’s rule as Egyptians on Saturday buried their dead from clashes with police, vowing to continue their revolt until they topple the country’s embattled President Hosni Mubarak.
Speaking after intelligence chief Omar Suleiman was sworn in as vice president, Mr ElBaradei urged Mubarak to leave Egypt for the good of the country.
