Ghaziabad: A lawyer representing the three domestic helps, who were arrested and later let off in the Aarushi murder case, on Monday made a fresh demand for security from Uttar Pradesh authorities claiming his life was under threat.
Naresh Yadav, the counsel for Krishna, Rajkumar and Vijay Mandal said that he was provided state security cover after the attack on Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar but it was withdrawn within 15 days.
Recently Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar was attacked by Utsav Sharma, a youngster, with a cleaver on January 25 in the court premises. He was later booked under IPC section 307 for attempt to murder.
Yadav said he has written to the Director General of Police requesting him to provide security as he (Yadav) has been vehemently speaking against the dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar and CBI.
He said that the UP government will be held responsible if he is harmed in the future.
14-year-old Aarushi, daughter of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, was found murdered with her throat slit in her parents' home at Jalvayu Vihar in Noida near Delhi on May 16, 2008.
The family's domestic help Hemraj was found dead on the terrace of the flat the following day.
The probe, which was first undertaken by the Noida police, was later taken over by the CBI. The agency had first given a clean chit to Rajesh and accused the three servants of having committed the murder of both.
However, a court has now ordered that Rajesh and Nupur should be tried for the crime.
