March 8: It was common knowledge that the DMK chief, Mr M. Karunanidhi was deeply worried that his daughter Kanimozhi could be questioned in the spectrum case and this was instrumental in his acceptance of the Congress’ seat demand.
“This is a good deal for the DMK as we are offering only 61 seats from our quota (one seat each came from the PMK and IUML). Hats off to Pranabji for his help in sorting things out,” a happy Mr Dayanidhi Maran told this newspaper, after emerging from 10, Janpath, where he and Mr M.K. Alagiri finalised the “deal” along with Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad.
