Five foreign troops died in an attack claimed by the Taliban on an Afghan Army base in the country’s East, the joint international force said on Saturday, while four Afghan troops were also killed.
"Five International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service members died following an insurgent attack in Eastern Afghanistan on Saturday," ISAF said in a statement.
ISAF spokesman Major Tim James confirmed that the deaths came in the attack on an Afghan Army base in Laghman province, Eastern Afghanistan, but could not comment on the nationalities of those killed.
