“Catch me if you can or else keep your mouth off for the next 10 years and watch us ruling the state,” a vibrant Trinamul Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee said this while making an open challenge against the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in a tit-for-tat reaction to the state housing minister Gautam Deb’s allegation of illegal funding of the Trinamul Congress in the Assembly polls.
At the same time, conveying strong message against Independent candidate, she sacked dissident party leader Tapas Saha for fighting the poll against the official nominee.
In a categorical statement in Krishnanagar she said: “The Trinamul Congress is answerable only to the people of the state, not to every Tom, Dick and Harry.”
She termed the Communist Party of India (Marxist) a gang of confused persons who have no clear vision. In her usual penchant, without naming Gautam Deb, she alleged that such points of “ethics” should not come of a leader who is “the leader of a corrupt gang”.
She also accused the CPI(M) claiming that the party would be incurring a whopping amount of `1,000 crores in the campaign trail only.
“The Trinamul Congress never made any compromise with corruption as we even openly announced our gratitude to the Congress who helped us providing the helicopter,” she said, adding: “If you (the CPI(M)) can arrange a copter, we are not bothered.” The CPI (M)-led Left Front rule has spoiled lives of three generations in the state.
Earlier, she accused the CPI(M) for spoiling the lives of at least three generations in the state. “At least three generations were grown up during the 34 years of CPI(M) rule in the state, but could never witness what is called the development. Particularly the people who live in remote rural are the worst sufferers,” she said.
During this long left rule in the state the picture of employment generation through industrial development is just bleak, she said.
Ms Mamata Banerjee, appearing confident of coming to power in the state, asked the partymen to be prepared with the “to do” list on top priority.
She said: “Make your plan ahead so that no time wasted after winning the election.” Significantly enough, the firebrand Trinamul supremo reiterated her stand on the rebel Congress candidates fighting the polls.
She said: “Some persons being funded by the CPI(M) have been calling for parivartan.” But they have no credibility, she warned people.
