RJD MLA from Godda, Sanjay Prasad Yadav was arrested on Thursday for allegedly slapping an official during a meeting in Godda district, police said.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Bansal said the MLA allegedly slapped Deputy Development Commissioner Dilip Jha following a heated argument over a development programme at the first meeting of the District Council.
The meeting was chaired by Yadav’s wife, Kalpana Devi.
