[1]The pass percentage in SSLC exams, results of which were announced by Education Minister Mr M.A. Baby here on Thursday, has gone up to 91.37 this year from 90.72 last year.
Girls continued to outshine boys with 2,13,851 becoming eligible for higher studies as compared to 2,04,768 boys.
As the evaluation was computerised, the results were published in a record time of 32 days and for the first time in the month of April.
The results show that there is a marked improvement in the performance of government schools with 155 registering 100 per cent pass when compared to 143 the last time.
However, only 208 private schools secured an ‘all pass record’ as against 228 last time.
Kottayam came first with 97.02 pass percentage, overtaking Kannur (96.24%), last year’s top performing district. Thiruvananthapuram (85.93 %) came last, even lower than Wayanad.
A total of 5,821 candidates secured A+ compared to 5,182 students last time. This time, 18,823 students got A or above for all subjects, an increase of 1,308 students.
“In all, 4,18,967 of 4,58,559 students who took the exams are eligible for higher studies,” said Mr Baby.
