Housing finance major HDFC on Tuesday reported a 23.27 per cent rise in net profit for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs.1,141.95 crores compared to Rs.926.3 crores in the year-ago period.
Total income went up 30.5 per cent to Rs.3,784.8 crores for the quarter under review, according to a company statement. For the whole of 2010-11, the net profit rose 25 per cent to Rs.3,534.96 crores compared to Rs.2,826.49 crores for the year ended March 31, 2010. Segment wise, the company's housing loan business income rose to Rs.13,238 crores in the last fiscal, while the insurance business contributed Rs.11,085.71 crores towards revenues. The company declared a dividend of Rs. 9 per equity share of Rs. 2 each for the fiscal 2010-11.
