India's top power producer National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) on Tuesday posted 38 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs.2,781.84 crores for the quarter ended March 31 as against Rs.2,017.65 crores during the like period of the last fiscal.
Net sales grew 25.62 per cent at Rs.15,518.94 crores during the quarter under review as compared to Rs.12,353.39 crores during the like quarter of the last financial year, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The company also recommended final dividend of Rs.0.80 per equity share. At the Bombay Stock Exchange, the shares of the company closed 4.60 per cent up at Rs.180.75.
