Bips and Maddy to romance in Greece

Unconventional pairing seems to be working wonders for Madhavan’s career. After the super success of Tanu Weds Manu opposite Kangna Ranaut, the actor will now be seen sharing screen space with the sizzling Bipasha Basu in an untitled romantic comedy to be directed by Ashwini Chaudhary. And the two will soon fly to Greece for a rather long shooting schedule.
The film, which was earlier titled Shaadi Fast Forward, is currently on schedule and the makers are aiming for a February release next year. So far the director has had a great time shooting with the pair. “Once the actors are in love with the script, then there can’t be any problem for the director. Ask him how he stumbled upon this chalk and cheese pair, and he says, “Both Madhavan and Bipasha were my first choices for the film. It’s a romantic comedy with an unpredictable subject, just like Maddy and Bips together. They have never worked together before, hence they gel with my characters.”
However, considering how Bollywood is underlined by romantic comedies, one wonders how Ashwini plans to break through the clutter. “It’s the treatment and the characters that make all the difference. And besides my lead actors, I have an interesting ensemble comprising Omi Vaidya, Dipannita and Mrinalini Sharma,” says a confident Ashwini.
So has the focus shifted from Ghayal Returns for now? “It’s a huge responsibility because the original is a cult film. I will start on it only after I am done with this one.”
