Fugitive gangster and druglord Santosh Shetty was deported from Bangkok Thursday night. He was remanded to police custody till August 17.
Once underworld don Chhota Rajan’s right hand man, Shetty was living under the alias of Nicholas (“Nick”) Sharma in Bangk-ok. He faces around a dozen cases in Mumbai and cities across India. “Our operation bringing Shetty back to India had been going on for six months,” said Mumbai joint commissioner of police (crime) Himanshu Roy.
