Amidst cheering crowd, a number of people dressed as mythological, historical characters roamed around the Ramlila Grounds where Anna Hazare is on an indefinite hungerstrike. They emerged as the showstoppers as many among the crowd posed with them for getting clicked.
The Naya Bazar Association ran a tableau with a man dressed as a statue of Mahatma Gandhi with lathi in his hand. The frail man smeared with mud stood still and looked like a statue.
The onlookers sloganeered Mahatma Gandhi ki Jai, Anna nahin yeh andhi hai desh ka doosra Gandhi hai. At the gate of Ramlila Grounds, Brij Mohan, a teacher from Masonic Public School, Gurgaon, stood dressed up as Constitution and intermittently turned himself upside down saying India’s Constitution is exactly opposite of what it should be. The crowd gave a thumbs up to the idea.
Badal Das, a social worker from Jharsu-guda, Orissa, dressed as Chandrashekhar Azad, raised slogans. Das, sporting a moustache and a tilak on forehead, was a hit as many supporters were eager to get photos clicked with him.
There were few others dressed as Hanuman, Lord Krishna and Bhagat Singh.
Ravi Kumar, an MNC employee from Rohini, held an earthernware vessel with currency notes falling out of it. He had named it Paap ka Ghada. Small photographs of controversial politicians were pasted on the vessel.
One group held a poster of Ravan with pictures of politicians pasted on his ten heads.
