A JNU passout and an aspiring radio jockey, Chandan, is training his creative guns at the government as his contribution to Gandhian social activist Anna Hazare’s indefinite fast at the Ramlila Grounds. He has converted several Hindi film dialogues and songs as slogans much to the delight of the public.
Holding half-a-dozen hand-written posters in his hands, he flips them turn by turn for the eager public who wants to read. Taking a cue from Ajay Devgn’s film Singham and Amitabh Bachchan’s latest film Buddha Hoga Tera Baap, one of the poster read, “Anna ke zameer mein hai dam, yahi hai asli Singham” while another read, “Buddha kisko bola buddha hoga tera baap” referring to 74-year-old Anna Hazare who is still going strong even on tenth day of his fast.
Parodying famous lines of Salman Khan’s Wanted, Chandan wrote, “Maine ek baar commitment kar li to uske baad to main kisike baap ki bhi nahin sunta”.
He has even twisted the famous dialogue of the superhit film Deewar as: “Tere paas bangla hai gadi hai daulat hai shohrat hai mere paas Anna hai”.
He even used some film songs creatively.
Aiming at politicians, a poster with caricatures of politicians, read, “Tera dil jo hua beyimaan, tu .... kaam se gaya”.
“I have been coming to Ramlila Grounds to support him to protest through my slogans,” said Chandan, who has done MA in political Science from JNU.
A government employee, who did not wish to be named, was wearing an apron of sorts with self composed couplets in Urdu. “Faila do ab is aag ko sholon ke sailab ki tarah, Ki ek ek aadmi chune siyasat ko tezaab ki tarah”.
