Karting is the sport that gave India its first racing legends — Narain Karthikeyan, Karun Chandhok, Armaan Ebrahim and Aditya Patel.
And, JK Tyres put them on the international racing scene. Now, JK Tyres is grooming younger drivers at the 9th JK Tyres Rotax Max Karting championship.
Young drivers like Ameya Bafna and Pradyuman Danigod dominated the event at the Kari race track in Coimbatore. With only two rounds left in the championship, the fight for dominance is far from over.
“It’s been a very exciting weekend. Ameya Bafna bagged pole in the Coimbatore leg of the super max championship race pacing himself very well through every round of the two-day event.
Participants from across the country came down for the race and took this chance to prove their worth on the track,” the event management firm said.
Pradyuman Danigod of Team Mohites Racing was the best in the Micro Max category. Pradyuman said, “It has been a very good race weekend for me. I have extended my lead.
The hard work put in by the team is showing results and I hope the form continues till the end of the season.”
Krishnaraj, the winner of the junior max category, thanked his luck on track and said he wants to improve his standing on the leader board. “I had a slow start to the weekend, and my timing was not so great in the qualifying race.
But on the last day, my kart ran well resulting in a twin podium for me. I hope to perform better in the next round, but for now, we go back and practice,” he said.
