First Emperor bags Madras Race Club Cup

B. Suresh-trained First Emperor, ridden by C. Velu, won the Madras Race Club Cup, the main event of the races held here on Sunday.

Trainer R. Foley claimed day’s honours, saddling five winners while trainer B. Suresh and jockey N. Rupa had a brace of winners each on a day when five favourites obliged in a card of nine events.
