Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok are set to represent India in the year-ending Race of Champions to take place in Bangkok Dec 14-16. The exciting drivers' line-up includes reigning Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel and seven-time winner Michael Schumacher.
Karthikeyan and Chandhok, the face of Indian motorsports, will compete with the best in the business from the world of F1, World Rally Championship, NASCAR and other popular racing series.
A formal announcement on the duo's participation is expected soon.
"It would be great to race in Bangkok. It is a fun and high-profile event. The likes of Vettel and Schumacher are going to be there. I am looking forward to representing India," Karthikeyan, driving for HRT in the 2012 F1 season, had told IANS earlier.
The star-studded line-up also includes IndyCar champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, former Grand Prix motorcycle road racing champion Michael Doohan, Moto GP champion Jorge Lorenzo and former F1 driver David Coulthard.
The event is based on a level-playing field with drivers battling it out in identical cars. The race venue is the Rajamangala Stadium in the Thai capital.
Germany won the team competition last year while rally driver Sebastien Ogier bagged the individual honours.
