Schumacher prepares for emotional return to Germany
London, July 17: Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher has admitted that racing in front of his home fans for the first time in four years will be an emotional experience.
Next weekend’s German Grand Prix will be Schumacher’s first outing on home ground after three years in retirement.
“No matter how long you have been around, it is always special to race in front of your home crowd,” The Sun quoted Schumacher, as saying.
Although the 41-year-old has struggled in his comeback season, collecting just 36 points from 10 races, he has promised to give his best at Hockenheim.
“I will try my best for fans who give me such a lot of support,” Schumacher said.
Along with Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, the duo face a rare experience of being German drivers in a German car in their home race.
