Egotistical men steer wheel towards pitfalls

The only thing even more harrowing than a woman is a woman behind the steering wheel of a car. No man ever blamed the driving authorities slackness more than when he accosted a lady driver trying to parallel park.

Sure some of you drive well but that is the exception rather than the rule and deep inside, you ladies know that.
However, we men are not anywhere close to perfect. Have you ever had a man ask you for directions? No. And you know why? Because we don’t. And it’s only part due to the fact that we don’t trust women to know the way. It is a heady mix of unvanquished egos, self-pride, and plain dogged stubbornness. That is men for you — competitive, ambitious, and usually, clueless.
But GPS has resolved that fast, and how! Today we can make our way to Mexico and back by road and the only stops requited would be to have a little roadside decantation. And yet, sadly, women continue to struggle getting in and out of a parking lot.
The trouble lies here: neither of us will own up. Men are stubborn, women, uninformed of their apparent lack of skill. The worst in both cases is that all of us think that this is true in general, but doesn’t particularly apply to us singularly as we ourselves are the exception.
I think I am born with a keen sense of directions just like my girlfriend-to-be (whoever she is) may consider herself no lesser a driving virtuoso. End result: misunderstandings. Fights and couch nights. C’mon ladies, don’t take offence when a man backseat drives you or offers to take over the wheel. We don’t once think of it badly when you tell us that none of us can ever quite find our way to your G-spot.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
