Balkishan shock for Murali
Karnataka’s Balkishan A. shocked top-seed Muralidharan to move into the joint lead in the DDCA All-India Open FIDE rating chess tournament at the Hebsur Bhavan, Hubli.
Balkishan, with 4.5 points shares the lead with seven others. Playing with white, Balkishan opted for the Queen Pawn opening against Muralidharan. The unorthodox game turned in Balkishan’s favor, who won the game on the 38th move.
Others in the lead are Vijendra Y.G., T Hemal Karsanji, Raghavendra V., Chauhan Joy, Kulkarni Nayak and Gopalkrishna.
