Jan. 8: Navya of Kendriya Vidyalaya-I and Mounika of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bolarum, entered the under-14 table tennis finals of the DC Inter-Schools Sports Meet being held at Indus World School, Sainikpuri, on Saturday.

Though Harshini won the 11-4, Navya in no time got her act together levelling scores in the second game 11-8. Navya then clinched the next two games 12-10, 11-6 to book a berth in the final.

In the other semifinal, Mounika breezed past A. Ravali of Rosary Convent 3-0 (11-8, 11-6, 11-8).

An interesting encounter awaits spectators as Sasya will face her twin sister Lasya for the under-12 title.

In the first semifinal, Sasya of Bhavan’s, Sainikpuri, defeated Rashmika of St Paul’s School (3-0) 11-8, 12-10, 9-11, 11-6.
In the other semi, Lasya, who is also from Bhavan’s, scripted a comfortable 3-0 win over T.R. Sri Samvedha of Don Bosco School. Lasya won 11-6, 11-8, 11-7.
