Top archer humbled at Nationals
New Delhi, Dec. 28: India’s ace archer Deepika Kumari was humbled in the 33rd Junior National Archery Championships here on Tuesday.
Deepika, the Commonwealth Games gold medallist and country’s numero uno archer, finished second and third respectively in the 50 and 60 metres girl’s recurve category.
Seema Verma of Steel Plant Sports Board (SPSB) shot 326 points to emerge on top in the 60 metres ahead of Dipali Boro of Assam (321) and Deepika (319).
In the 50 metres event, Deepika, who is also representing SPSB, fared a touch better as she finished second with 307 points.
Seema (319) once again came on top and Dipali (301) third.
