Misery loves company

We live in a miserable world because we are miserable. We are the world and misery is our own fiction, our own creation. Of course, there are facts of misery — natural disasters, widespread poverty, disease etc. But there is always something to do about it. But there’s another misery, deeper misery, which is purely psychological.

Science of inner being

In April, there were news reports that the White House has embraced yoga as a worthy physical activity at a time when some schools in America were railing against the ancient Indian practice, saying it promotes Hinduism.

The temples of love

Recently millions of people went to Allahabad for a holy dip in the Ganges. It was a gathering of the largest scale in India — really spectacular, though there was a tragic incident where 36 people died at the railway station. It is a reality that at major religious events organised in Hardwar or Mecca, people get crushed and killed due to indiscipline in crowds. Still people are drawn to these religious events.

Rage rooms & meditation

As the modern civilisation becomes more and more uncivilised, some intelligent people around the world are becoming concerned and looking for solutions to bring some sanity. The whole world seems to be going mad — people are in a real rage and the volcanoes of anger and violence are erupting almost daily.

Wo-man

Jesus says, God is love. Love is the nucleus of our existence. Anybody who thinks love has nothing to do with religion is not in tune with the spirit of life. Love is the ultimate bliss when it is universal. Love becomes imprisonment and misery when it is possessive.

A dangerous man

Though so much has been written about Osho, it is difficult to describe who he was. This enlightened master spoke with astounding clarity about every aspect of human experience and consciousness.

Meditator’s mind mirror

Our mind is full of information, which becomes our memory. We are overloaded with it and when we receive anything new, this overloaded mind becomes choosy.

Our own ways to meditate

While on the way to Dharamsala, to participate in a meditation camp, I asked a fellow traveller, do you also meditate? He said, “I do meditate, but I do it in my own way.”

Attuned to the master

What is the secret of joy in a man’s life? The simple answer is: To be in tune with existence. For the awakened people, this statement may not require much elaboration, but for others, this statement needs some explanation.
