Novak Djokovic downs Roger Federer to reach US Open final

World number one and top seed Novak Djokovic saved two match points before defeating five-time champion Roger Federer 6-7 (7/9), 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 7-5 and reach the US Open final for a third time on Saturday.

The Serb had also saved two match points in the pair's semi-final meeting last year.

Djokovic's victory on Saturday was revenge for his loss at the hands of the Swiss legend in the French Open semi-finals, a defeat which ended his 43-match winning run.

He will face either defending champion Rafael Nadal or Andy Murray in Monday's final.
