UP’s Tiwary top seed at talent series

Uttar Pradesh’s Ashutosh Tiwary will be the top seed in the boys’ Under-12 and Under-14 categories as the main draw of the All India Tennis Association U-14 and U-12 talent series tennis championship gets under way at the La Martiniere facility in Lucknow.

On the final day of qualifying matches, UP’s Vibhav Singh Bisht defeated Utkarsh Singh of Bihar 8-1 while Shreekant Thakur of UP beat statemate Anshuman Singh 8-3. Delhi’s Naman Sherawat and Sahil Ratra of UP were the other winners in the boys’ singles U-12 category.
Similarly, in the U-14 boys’ category Vaibhav Singh Bisht of UP hammered statemate Aryan Kulbe 8-0 while Srijan Singh of UP breezed past Delhi’s Naman Sharma with a similar scoreline.
Eight players from the qualifying round qualified for the main draw.
