Six rural kids to train in Madrid
A group of six children — four boys and two girls — from the rural areas of Haryana will head to Madrid on Friday for a three-week advanced training programme in tennis.
All these children were undergoing specialised training in tennis at the Chandigarh Academy for Rural Tennis.
The players, aged between 11 and 18, who would take part in the specialised training programme include Vikrant Dahiya of village Matindu in the Sonepat district, Naresh Badgujar of village Andhop in Palwal, Krishan of village Sanghi in Rohtak, Ravita of Dhamaka village in Palwal, Princy Panchal of Mankrola village in Gurgaon and Ranjeet Singh of Ansholi village in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh.
During the three-week stint, the youngsters will receive scientific guidance on the finer aspects of the game from top coaches of Spain and also play local tournaments in Madrid in their respective age groups.
