Bengaluru: Fourth seed Chandril Sood completed a remarkable run with a comeback victory over second seed Mohit Mayur to lift the men's trophy while Sai Samhita stayed true to form winning the women's crown in the DS Max Top Spin AITA tennis series at the KSLTA , here on Saturday .
Sood, who has had a great run in the championship shutting out top seed Nitin Kirtane in the semifinals, kept the good form going as he clawed back from a first-set deficit to outplay Mayur 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 in a contest lasting three hours.
Samhita, meanwhile, carried too many guns for Adnya Naik's liking, as she won 6-4, 6-2 in the women's final. The men's final was an engrossing tie marked with some superb rallies. But it was Sood's searing crosscourt returns and strong smashes that gave him the edge.
