Srijitesh in semifinal

Srijitesh Swamy prevailed over third seed P.V. Gnana Bhaskar 4-2, 5-4(3) in the quarterfinals of the under-14 boys event of the talent series tennis tournament being held at Advantage Tennis Academy in Neredmet, Secunderabad. S.D. Prajwal Dev and Yash Puri advanced to the semifinal of the same category.

While Prajwal had it easy over Ponnala Siddarth 4-1, 4-0, Yash Puri outplayed Amit Bhatta 4-2, 4-1. Abhinav Macedo also eased into the semifinals beating Anirudh Tarun 4-2, 4-2. In the girls under-14 event, Y. Pranjala and Bindiya Khanwani continued their winning streak. Bindiya defeated Sonali Reddy 5-3, 4-1. Meanwhile, Pranjala got the better of Ch Sai Nikitha 4-0, 4-2.

However, it was curtains in the under-18 event for Bindiya, who went down to Ann Christin Nilsson 2-4, 1-4. P. Rashmitha Reddy, who went down to Neharika 4-1, 2-4, 3-5 in the under-14 event, pulled up her socks up in time to come back strongly in the under-18 girls events.

Rashmitha defeated Shambavi Dixit 3-5, 5-4, 5-4 in a keenly-contested encounter. In the boys under-18 event, Pradeep Deswal came out with flying colours as he easily outplayed Manney Kumar Manoj 4-0, 4-0.
