Tomic’s dad banned from roland garros

The father of Australian star Bernard Tomic, who has been accused of assaulting his son’s training partner, will be banned from the French Open, even as a paying spectator, officials said on Monday.

John Tomic has already had his tournament credentials withdrawn by tennis authorities after he was charged with attacking French coach Thomas Drouet in Madrid on May 4.
But it was believed that he could have been allowed to enter Roland Garros as a paying spectator instead to see his son in action against Romania’s Victor Hanescu on Tuesday.
However, French Open officials said that staff have been told to refuse entry to Tomic senior.
Tomic, 20, hasn’t played since his father was arrested and charged with assaulting Drouet.
Drouet was left with a broken nose after a brawl outside the hotel where players in the Madrid Masters were staying.
Meanwhile, Drouet confirmed that he is working with French women’s number one Marion Bartoli for the duration of the tournament.
