Lauren to be on Bigg Boss?

One of the strongest contenders and top two finalists on dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Lauren Gottlieb wasn’t very surprised when she didn’t clinch the trophy and television actress Drashti Dhami did, instead.
“The result wasn’t shocking since I knew it would go one way or another. There has to be only one winner. I have been on American dance show So You Think You Can Dance, so I know how reality shows work. Which is why, in the last two weeks, I focused more on putting up a good performance rather than winning. People have been telling me that I won without actually winning,” says Lauren.
The dancer has been making public appearances since the time she finished shooting for Jhalak. “We used to dance in front of an audience of about 100 people while shooting for Jhalak. But once outside, thousands of people recognise me. Hailing from a foreign land, I think it’s a big achievement,” says Lauren who has made Mumbai her home. “Six years ago, I moved from Arizona to Hollywood. Mumbai is my second major move,” says Lauren.
Buzz is that she has been approached to appear on reality show Bigg Boss. When asked about the offer, all the dancer was willing to say is, “I was on a mini vacation in Goa. I have just gotten back and started watching the show. I am not sure if I want to be a part of it yet. I have been meeting a lot of people, and don’t want to grab everything that’s coming my way,” she says adding, “Andy is my favourite contestant — too much fun and flamboyance. Elli is doing a great job too. I know it can be difficult for a non-Hindi speaking contestant to be on the show.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
