In the name of thy brother
Tusshar Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh
Mooche hon toh Nathulal jaisi,
aur behna ho toh Ekta Kapoor jaisi.
But bahut kathin hai dagar panghat ki, especially when Tusshar Kapoor is your brother, and doubly so when you have a sinking feeling about a movie where T-Kapoor and his friend Riteish Deshmukh spend most of their middle-aged time ogling girls none of whom, in a really fair world, should even be sharing their galactic space.
That’s why E-Kapoor has been plugging away her brother’s film in all her TV serials so shamelessly. The other reason, of course, is that Balaji has bankrolled this atrocity.
Hamare entertainment channel people really must have some rules about this sort of thing. Imagine if Priyanka Gandhi started pushing her brother to become the Prime Minister. Shocking na?
So anyway, in a rather dramatic and long episode of Bade Achche Lagte Hain (Sony) last week, T-Kapoor and R-Deshmukh, looking really haggard and unkempt, kept maroing bad PJs and prancing around Dubai pretending to be Bollywood’s big stars while daily-wage extras were told to feign fainting spells every time they spotted T-Kapoor and R-Deshmukh. Arre, E-Kapoor should have just shown them the film. Sab girls ek saath, hamesha ke liye faint ho jaatin.
All this nonsense kept us away from the show's main story, which was about P-Kapoor, as in Priya Kapoor, finally giving her darshan to R-Kapoor, i.e. Ram Kapoor, five years after she decided to disappear from his life.
So first toh T-Kapoor and R-Deshmukh kept doing annoying things, and then that crabby Dubai businessman, R-Kapur, as in Rajat Kapur, picked exactly that episode to start heaving his chest in Dhak-dhak karne laga style for P-Kapoor. And in between all this, R-Kapoor and P-Kapoor’s old friends, V&N-Shergill (Vikram and Neha), started hurtling towards a divorce. Why? That paheli awaits P-Kapoor’s return. She must come back to India to figure out for all of us what went wrong and then fix it.
I’ve sort of figured the reason for their divorce. It’s probably because N-Shergill pushed R-Kapoor to marry A-Sharma, that is P-Kapoor’s little sister Ayesha Sharma. Many days tak this boring drama is going to drag, with lots of rona-dhona about R-Kapoor marrying P-Kapoor’s little sister to save her from badnami because of her i-child, i.e. illegitimate child.
In fact, when P-Kapoor does return, she has to reunite not the Shergills, but also her own mummyji and daddyji. And, of course, there will be an idiotic tug-of-war between R-Kapur and R-Kapoor, but eventually P-Kapoor will be found in R-Kapoor’s bedroom.
But to get to that day, we must suffer lots of stretching of the story, twists that go this way and that, and bhaiyya T-Kapoor’s nonsense. Really, bahut hi kathin hai dagar panghat ki.
