Here is a piece of bad news for mobile operators, who want to tap the huge market for mobile ba-nking: The Reserve Bank of India does not want to delink banks from the mobile banking and wants mobile service providers to tie up with banks for offering banking services on mobile phones.

3 BJP MLAs are suspended for RS cross-voting

The BJP on Friday suspended three party MLAs for cross-voting in the just-concluded Rajya Sabha polls. MLAs Banwari Ram from Bihar, Bhimsen Chaudhary from Orissa and Ram Chandra from Jharkhand were suspended for not voting in favour of the BJP candidate or abstaining in the biennial polls on Thursday.

EU crisis won’t stop RBI’s stimulus exit

The Reserve Bank of India will continue with its calibrated exit from an expansive monetary policy despite the European crisis, governor, Dr D. Subbarao, said.
“We must do a calibrated exit from the expansionary stance that we had taken during the (global economic) crisis,” Dr Subbarao told reporters on the sidelines of a conference on banking technology.

Cabinet clears NDMC bill

The Union Cabinet on Thursday cleared the NDMC Amendment Bill 2010, which seeks to make the member of Parliament from New Delhi constituency a member of the New Delhi Municipal Council with voting rights. Also, the total number of MLAs as members of the council will be reduced from three to two. The bill, seeking to amend the NDMC Act (1994), will be tabled in Parliament during its monsoon session.
