The peacock in question may not possess astrological powers but it is being looked upon as a messenger of god. A young girl accused her father of sexual exploitation merely to save herself from his wrath after she secured poor marks in B.Tech.
The girl, who is studying in an engineering college in Ghaziabad, sent a letter to the superintendent of police in Sonebhadra district, accusing her father of sexually exploiting her.

6 die in UP tomato sauce tank

A woman entered a 12-feet deep tank filled with raw material for making tomato sauce to clean the area and slipped and fell into it. Eight of her co-workers jumped into the tank to save her, and six of them, including the woman, died while two are still battling for their lives in the hospital.
The deaths, according to police sources, occurred due to some poisonous gas in the tank.

In UP, a cell to handle 1,500 letters to Maya

UP chief minister Mayawati’s letter box, rather bag, seems to be overflowing.
The number of letters that the chief minister receives every day has been steadily going up and the general post office in Lucknow has now set up a separate cell that deals exclusively with letters addressed to the chief minister.

Maya renames Amethi

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s constituency, Amethi, has been renamed and given the status of a district by the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh.
This was decided by the state Cabinet on Thursday. The new district, the state’s 72nd, will be renamed Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Nagar.

Congress yatras in caste mould
