My arrival in Madrid greeted me with cool winds. We checked into our hotel on the Gran Via that was an easy five minute stroll to Plaza Mayor, one of the city’s main plazas.

We took the flight to Nadi from Hong Kong. Both being visa free destinations, we made the plan in a jiffy. Finally we took off. The flight attendants had cream frangipanis tucked behind their ears. Drinks were multicoloured. It was a South Pacific holiday after all.

I met my rider and his prized machine (read Harley Davidson) at my hotel in Bondi. After wearing my rider’s costume, it was time to board, sit back and relax to the sound of its famed V-twin roar.

Afairly unique city in Europe, in a sense the most unique, the towering skyline and elegant buildings make Rotterdam more like an American or Australian city than a European city. The place was bombed by Hitler in wartime, and over the ensuing decades, was rebuilt with amazingly diverse nouveau architecture.
