SA solid as draw beckons

South Africa were 131/3 in their second innings at lunch on the final day of the second Test on Tuesday, after trailing West Indies by three runs.
The Test headed for a dull draw after Windies made 546, replying to the South Africans’ first innings total of 543/6 declared. The Proteas, resuming from their overnight total of 23/0, lost three wickets that of captain Graeme Smith, Alviro Petersen and Hashim Amla.

Kallis, de Villiers pile on WI misery

Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers got within touching distance of personal landmarks before lunch, as South Africa continued to plunder West Indies in the second Test on Saturday here.

SA off to strong start

South African openers Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen got their team off to a bright start in the second Test against the West Indies here on Friday.
The visitors were 104/1 when rain stopped play forcing the players to take early lunch on day one. After electing to bat first at Warner Park, skipper Smith and Petersen were off the blocks quickly scoring at six per an over, as pacers Kemar Roach and Ravi Rampaul erred in length.
