Puducherry registers 85% polling
The Union Territory of Puducherry on Wednesday registered an estimated 85 per cent polling in elections for its 30-member asssembly.
District election officer Ragesh Chandra said that polling went off peacefully. He said Yanam “as usual topped the list with highest percentage of polling among all the four regions of the Union Territory.”
More than 78 % polling in Puducherry
More than 78 per cent of voters exercised their franchise by 4 00 p.m. on Wednesday in the Puducherry Assembly polls, officials here said. “At 4 00 p.M. 78.86 per cent votes were cast with Yanam region touching a figure of 92 per cent,” an election official told IANS.
