Even as the police seemed to heave a sigh of relief by claiming to have solved the sensational Radhika Tanwar murder case, the family of the victim appeared unconvinced about their claims.

Police gets custody, to grill killer

The main accused in the Radhika Tanwar-murder case, Vijay, alias Ram Singh, 25, who was apprehended from the suburbs of Mumbai and brought to Delhi on Saturday was produced in a Delhi court. Singh has been taken into four-days police custody by the orders of the court. Singh was arrested in Friday later hours, four-days after he allegedly shot dead Radhika.

Jats threaten to cut off supplies

A huge contingent of police and provincial armed constabulary (PAC) has been deployed at Muradnagar regulator of upper Ganga canal, which is crucial for the water supply to the Sonia Vihar water treatment plant in the city. The heavy deployment has been carried out following threats by Jat leaders agitating for reservation in government jobs. In a previous attempt last year, the Jats had managed to “capture” the regulator and turned off the water supply to the city.

‘Radhika snubbed killer 3 days before murder’

Officers investigating the murder of Ramlal Anand College student Radhika Tanwar on Saturday said that the accused, 25-year-old Vijay, alias Ram Singh, had during sustained interrogation “confessed that three days before the murder he was snubbed by Radhika when he tried to approach her for a conversation.” They added that he also felt insulted at being beaten up for harassing her and had told his friends he would avenge the humiliation whenever he got the opportunity.

Pillai tries to get the Army to agree
