Gangrape in car in CP, cop held

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped in Connaught Place on Sunday evening by a Delhi police constable and his friend who have been arrested by the police.
Police officials said the victim, who works with an insurance company, was raped by the accused Manoj, a Delhi police traffic constable in Chanakyapuri circle in his Alto car parked in the upscale Connaught Place area on Sunday evening. Manoj was accompanied by his friend Sudhir who also allegedly raped her and he has also been arrested.

Sources revealed that Manoj lured the victim, an insurance agent, to Connaught Place by promising to buy a health policy from her.
The victim had called him a few days back to fix an appointment.
“On Sunday, when the victim called Manoj again, he asked her to come over to a coffee shop located in the inner circle of Connaught Place. In the meantime, the two entered a bar where they took some beer and later left for the coffee shop where they planned to meet the victim,” an investigating officer said.
“After finishing the coffee, Manoj offered to drop her home to which the victim agreed. However, soon after closing the window of their car, Manoj and Sudhir allegedly gagged her and raped her one by one,” a investigating officer said.
The official said the victim was dumped by the two accused near her residence and she approached the police on Monday morning. She was taken to a city hospital where her medical examination confirmed sexual assault and a case was registered at the Connaught Place police station and the two were arrested.
The police has booked the two under sections of gangrape, extortion and conspiracy and they were sent to judicial custody. In her statement to the police, the victim, a native of Orissa, told the police that after raping her, the two took away Rs 2,000 cash. She also said that the two accused had filmed the incident.
The victim’s husband lives in Orissa and she lives as a paying guest in Lajpat Nagar along with her two children.
The accused constable had joined Delhi police in 2004 and lives in Uttam Nagar while his friend Sudhir runs a catering business in west Delhi.

Men have little respect for

Men have little respect for women in Delhi and are jealous of them. Of course the infamous law and order system gives them the reassurance of getting away with it. What we now need is a Saudi-kind of system; yes some may argue that its medieval but then the things that are happening are no different either. Soon some crazy vigilante will go on a rampage against all this and it will be unstoppable. A fear has to be drilled into the hearts of all who even think of such heinous crimes.

India needs to outsoure their

India needs to outsoure their police & judiciary function to another country. The country is incapable of running it self. These two culprits will be ultimately go scot free because the judges will take bribes and the police will be busy committing offences. This is not the Bharat that Mahatama Gandhi envisaged.
