Join hands for Games’ success, says Sheila

Amidst scathing attack by the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly over road cave-in incidents, chief minister Sheila Dikshit appealed to the BJP “not to make things worse but join hands to make the Commonwealth Games a great success”.

“Don’t do this, otherwise the Commonwealth Games will appear to collapse. I am requesting you with folded hands not to do this,” Ms Dikshit.
Earlier the Leader of the Opposition, V.K. Malhotra, while raising the issue of road cave-ins in various parts of the cities, stated that “no projects are likely to meet the August 31 deadline”.
“Several areas are facing flood-like situation due to rains. The widespread digging activities have resulted in accumulation of concrete waste across the city. The government is not taking the dengue spread seriously. Delhi will have to face embarrassment during Commonwealth Games,” Prof. Malhotra said in the Assembly.
As the Congress MLAs rose to defend the government, the chief minister intervened and requested the Opposition not to resort to any blamegame and asked it to join hands to make the sporting event a success.
“There is no need to worry about the rise in Yamuna water level. We have shifted only five families from the low-lying areas. The situation is totally under control. I am not blaming MCD or any other agency. This is not the time for that. We should work together,” the chief minister remarked.

It is good to start one of

It is good to start one of the world class games
but one of the main problem is wasting the common wealth. I can see nowadays footpath are dug ,I cannot understand what is the reason for digging the path because they are already fine instead of waisting the money for that we can clean up markets and busstops in the city itself which look so shabby and we can plant good fahionable plants around the CWG stadium and the roads nearby to make it look like a stadium with greenary and heritage sight than the other stadiums around the world.

I wish a complete failure for

I wish a complete failure for CWG. Such that no such rubbish events take place and people like Kalmadi don't get chance to loot public money . If it gets success, people like Kalmadi will not get any punishment and such wastage of public money will continue. This huge money could be better utilised in reducing poverty, providing health and education to all citizens.
