I want to buy a DTH connection that is good — Sun DTC, Airtel DTH, Reliance DTH, Tata Sky or Dish TV. Please tell me which will work best for a Sony LCD.

If your LCD TV is full HD (high definition), which means a resolution of 1080, then it would be advisable to go in for a HD DTH set-top box. High-definition TV transmission and HD satellite transmission is now globally common and is being adapted in India too.
India is ready with over 20 HD channels and most service providers are gradually providing programmes in HD. Presently, the top selling HD boxes are Dish TV and Tata Sky.
Dish provides 30 HD channels in comparison to four or five of its competitors. Tata Sky because its HD boxes have recording capabilities of 625 hours of recording capabilities and 500 GB hard drive. It is very competitively priced too.

Videocon 3-D PVR: Videocon d2h, the DTH arm of Videocon d2h has announced the launch of India’s first high definition — digital video recorder with 3D. Now its customers will be able to enjoy 3D content and experience digital entertainment.

Internet connection through STB:
The talk of providing high speed broadband, ethernet through the DTH set-top boxes (STB) is very much in the air; since most systems of DTH service providers already in place and they have a sufficiently large existing client base, providing high-speed internet connection should not be a herculean task.
