With 71 new 3G licenses being granted and with BSNL and MTNL already providing the services, 3G talk is the favourite talk among all Net surfers and content down loaders.

Why are they so excited about it? Speed. With this technology high-speed data transfers to mobile phones and other mobile electronic device is easy and real fast. Today 3G service providers are assuring broadband speeds to GSM mobile and downstream speeds of upto 3.6 mbps which for the general Net fan means more song and movie download in lesser time. India now joins the elite group of just over a 100 countries providing 3G services.

Beware
There are lots of emails floating around in cyber space promising you downloads of latest movies at a very reasonable one-time charge. Many of them are hit-and-run operators so avoid such temptations.

I wish to go in for a good high-end phone which would allow me to access the Internet at high speed with easy web-browsing. It should have a good MP3 player and high quality camera.

Presently, the three top of the line mobile phones vying for the top slot are Apple iphone3G S, Blackberry Storm and the newest challenger Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 which has stormed the high-end media phone arena and is all set to knockout the apples and berries from their fruit basket. Firstly, all three are 3G phones and therefore surfing and downloading data will be very fast. The viewing screen of the Sony is half an inch larger than the other two and is a 65,536 colour TFT. As far as camera is concerned, the Sony has an amazing 8.1 mp camera. If your camera usage is extensive then Sony will be your best bet. If you are into SMS and group chats then Blackberry would be suitable since group chatting globally is free via the Blackberry exclusive network and if you are music crazy then Apple is the fruit for you.
