CBI claims it has witnesses against Jagan

CBI counsel told the special CBI court that witnesses were ready to provide proof against Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s bail plea, after his arrest and if he was given bail he could use his clout to intimidate witnesses.

Jagan Mohan Reddy’s counsel, Ranjit Kumar, had argued that denying his client bail was denying him a fair trial as he was not in a position to meet his counsel.

Contending that the Kadapa MP would abide by the conditions laid down by the court, Kumar had earlier sought interim bail for Jagan Mohan Reddy to allow him to campaign for the upcoming bypolls.

But on Friday, Jagan Mohan Reddy filed a memo requesting the judge not to consider the interim bail and instead pronounce orders on the bail petition.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is currently in judicial custody at Chanchalguda prison till June 11.
