Mantri Chiru says he has no time for films

The Union minister of state for tourism, Mr K. Chiranjeevi, on Saturday virtually announced his retirement from films and said that it might not be possible for him to act anymore as he would be busy with his ministerial responsibilities besides playing a key role in Congress politics.

The actor-turned politician had earlier said that he would act in one more film, the 150th of his career.

In an informal interaction with the media he said that Mr Rahul Gandhi was firm about injecting young blood in the Congress and administration, which he hoped would lead to a good show by the party in the coming elections both at the Centre and the state level.

The Union minister added that he would abide by the party’s decision on Telangana or state leadership.

Hearty Congratulations to

Hearty Congratulations to Chiru for becoming a Central Minister and I wish to make a caution for you.You are now the Minister for the whole people of the Nation. It is good,if you won't develop partisan attitude of supporting some selected officials who in turn spoil the future and livelihood of others. If you do that Congress can never come to power and you all are digging its grave.Once we worked with so much effort and caution to help Venketaramana and Chintha Mohan to win in Tirupati. In your case too there was sympathy factor from our side.During this election the Candidate lost to you, gained because of the partisan attitude and posting of Mr.Prasad as Commissioner who made all of us to lose not only livelihood but also dignity by encouraging corrupt officers and doing the worst against people who were having soft corner for you,Chiru. It is good if you avoid such things as a Minister. We wish you glorious future for you. S.A.Rahim

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
