3 held in sex video racket in Orissa, more suspected
The Orissa police on Sunday arrested three youths on charges of luring girls from their homes on the promise of marrying them and later engaging them in making sex videos to earn quick money.
Dozens of CDs containing footages of sexual relationship with the trapped girls were seized from several video parlours in Keonjhar, Joda and Barbil towns in north Orissa. The accused were arrested from Keonjhar town, nearly 300 km from here, by a special investigation squad.
The police said one of the accused — Titu Mitra — confessed that he would force his wife to have sex with others to add new varieties to his portfolio of “local” sex movies. The police refused to disclose the identity of two other culprits saying it would affect the investigation process. “We have arrested three accused only. More people are suspected. We will disclose in details about this racket once we reach to the key culprits,” Dhruba Charan Puhan, Keonjhar sub-divisional police officer said, told this newspaper.
The modus operandi of the accused surprised the police. They loiter around bus stops and college campuses for days, trying to establish contacts with poor girls through local shop-owners and official staff. In some cases, some high profile girls — looking for easy money — also fall into their trap.
The Sunday’s arrest comes barely four days after the police arrested one Satyajit Mishra, a highly educated youth, for duping college going girls on the promise of giving them jobs and later compelling them to shoot to obscene films.
In both the cases, the two key accused came to the police radar after relatives of the victims got MMS clips on their mobile phones.
