Cong takes dig at Advani’s yatra
Congress on Saturday said it was ironical that former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyuruppa is fighting for bail in a corruption case at a time when the BJP is undertaking an anti-corruption yatra across the country.
"Perhaps it would have been far more appropriate if the anti-corruption yatra would have been first undertaken in Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Punjab where BJP ministers and functionary have been indicted on charges of corruption," party spokesman Manish Tewari said here.
He said it was "ironical" that Yeddyurappa is seeking bail in a corruption case at a time when the BJP is undertaking the yatra. BJP leader L K Advani is on a 38-day yatra across the country to take on the UPA government on the issue of corruption.
A Lokayukta Court has rejected the bail plea of Yeddyurappa and issued arrest warrant against him in connection with cases regarding alleged irregularities in denotification of government lands.
