Court asks police to file rape case on Rajasthan minister

Minister of state for khadi and rural industries (independent in charge of dairy) Babulal Nagar landed in trouble when a local court in Jaipur directed the police to register a case of sexual assault and rape against him. The court passed the order on Tuesday while hearing a complaint filed by a woman.

The minister, however, termed such allegations as false and blamed his political adversaries of trying to tarnish his image.
The woman said in her complaint that the minister had invited her to his residence on September 11 on the pretext of providing her a job.
The victim said there was no one there when she arrived.
The victim said she was then sexually assaulted and raped. She said the minister threatened her with severe consequences if she told anyone of the incident.
The victim said when the police refused to lodge the FIR, she filed the complaint before the court.
