Engineer arrested for beating minor domestic help

A software engineer from Noida on the outskirts of Delhi has been arrested for allegedly torturing her 14-year-old domestic help, reports said.

Meenakshi Bharadwaj has been allegedly beating the minor maid using leather belts and sticks and forcibly locking her inside the house.

In a complaint filed by the girl from Jharkhand has alleged that the engineer and her husband would not let her go out of the house and often beat her, even more when she tried to escape.

On Saturday, the girl managed to escape from the house and went to the police station with the help of the security guards of the colony.

Police say that medical reports on the girl confirms that the girl has been tortured.

The police are now trying to question the woman who brought the girl to Delhi with the promise of a job.
