Hospital denies mortuary space to jawan
While the nation is mourning the death of the five CRPF jawans killed in the terror attack in the Bemina area of Srinagar, one of the five martyred soldiers was shown shocking disrespect in his hometown of Mandya on Friday.
To the outrage of the people of the district, the private Vikram hospital refused to provide space in its mortuary for the body of the jawan, N. Satish, which was handed over to the Mandya administration at 2.30 am on Friday near Maddur and brought to the town an hour later. Aware that the district hospital mortuary did not have the facility, Mandya deputy commissioner B.N. Krishn-aiah approached the Vikram hospital at 10.20 pm on Thursday.

Raipur, March 15
A youth in a Chhatt-isgarh village has been trapped in an extremely narrow opening of a nearby hillock for the past 48 hours as all efforts by the local administration to rescue him have failed to bear any fruit so far, officials said on Friday.
Ram Prasad (27), resident of Chichagaon village under Bhanupratap-pur block in Kanker district, was found trapped in a narrow hole inside the nearby Ranwari hillock by his family members on Wednesday evening while they were searching for him in the area.
The villagers later alerted the local administration on the incident after they failed to bring him out.
“When we reached the spot along with the relief teams to rescue the youth we were shocked to find him trapped in such an extremely narrow opening inside the 200 ft long hillock.”
“Only his face is visible outside. One of his hands also remained stretched outside. The rest part of the body lies inside almost squeezed between huge slabs”, Kanker district sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) S.S. Nag, who was supervising the rescue operation, said.
