Modi to BSY: Wait for Gadkari exit
After an unsuccessful attempt by Yeddyurappa loyalists to break the ice with the BJP leadership, it is Gujarat CM Narendra Modi’s turn to use his good offices to retain BSY in the party. Yeddyurappa has always held the Gujarat CM in high esteem and never misses an opportunity to compare his administrative achievements with those of Modi.
Sources said Modi - whose rivalry with the Advani-Gadkari axis in BJP is no secret - called BSY on Oct. 26 and requested him not to take any hasty decision till Gadkari is removed from the post of BJP president.
Modi told a BSY loyalist that “he had requested the RSS top brass during a meeting on Oct. 20 at Nagpur to obtain Gadkari’s resignation.”
He has reportedly has sent a message to BSY that he is gathering support for Arun Jaitley’s candidature as party chief, which will ensure a better future for Yeddyurappa in the BJP.

Gadkari's continuance as BJP Chief will diminish the party prospect in the coming polls. In the interest of the party he shuld have voluntarily stepped down to set a precedence and an example. Jetly will certainly be a better choice but the BJP has to come out of the clutches of the old horse Advani and go head long for a Hindutva oriented image if it has to create momentum in the majority community. Yadurappa is the back bone of BJP in kARNATAKA, he cannot be side lined. BJP needs him. There may be allegations against him but no politician is clean
