NHRC seeks report over naxal’s death
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Thursday directed the Chhattisgarh government to submit a report on the recent custodial death of a suspected Naxal in undivided Dantewada district.
Official sources said the rights body has asked the state government to submit a detail report on the incident within a fortnight and also steps taken by it to bring the culprits to the book.
The state government has already ordered a judicial probe into the alleged suicide by the suspected Naxal, Podiyami Mada, 26, in the Sukma police station in the late night of January 13.
