Our brains getting bigger!

Future generations will be way smarter than us as the human brain is getting bigger and bigger, says India-born American scientist Mani Lal Bhaumik.
Claiming that humans will eventually become super-intelligent beings, the inventor of the Excimer laser — now increasingly used in lasik eye surgeries to correct sight defects — said that as the human head was growing bigger to accommodate a larger brain, one out of every four deliveries in the United States had to be done through a caesarean section. Once a super-intelligent man evolves, caesarean deliveries will become even more common.
“This evolution may not take place in terms of physical features, but it is taking place in the brain. It is occupying a bigger space as intelligence increases. We can see the change in our children who are much brighter than us,” Dr Bhaumik said.
Now in Hyderabad to attend a week-long science and spirituality conference, the scientist said the evolutionary process in the human brain had already started and the emergence of a super-intelligent creature was just a matter of time. He added that man would continue to survive on earth for another five billion years, as he had no natural enemies. “We do not have any natural enemies except ourselves. If there’s no nuclear holocaust, man will dominate the earth, the moon and Mars as long as the solar system lasts,” he claimed.
Asked why man would not evolve into a new species, Dr Bhaumik said man and the chimpanzee — our closest relative — shared 99.9 per cent genes but it was the evolution of the brain that made man an intelligent being. As the human brain evolves further, man will emerge as a super-
intelligent creature. “We are assisting our own evolution,” he added.
However, the scientist did not rule out the possibility of such super-intelligent beings enslaving other not-so-intelligent fellow humans. He said: “There may be things, both good and bad. But it will be a temporary phenomenon.”
Dr Bhaumik also predicted that the average lifespan of man might go up to 150 years in the next 50 years. But the biggest challenge in achieving longevity, he said, was stress. “Stress is a big killer. If we live stress-free and have a good diet, we can live up to 150 years. With the help of biotechnology, we can increase life, fight ageing and grow artificial organs through stem cells,” he said.
Research is now concentrated on telomere, (end part of a chromosome, which protects it from deterioration), which gets shorter and shorter as the cells in the body divide. “If we could protect telomere from shortening, we can prolong life. Lifestyle changes, positive diet and modern medicine will help in prolonging the human lifespan,” he said.

Vry well said sir, you are

Vry well said sir, you are true, our lifespan also decrease because everything we are eating is adultrated or manipulated from fruits to the vegetables. They lack quality as well as taste. They accumulate free radicals in the body which bind to tissue and degrade them. All spicy food very dangerous, fruits and vegetables are getting higher content of pesticidal drugs which retard your from mental and physical level.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
